From a business point of view yes, but I like the tiles for a HTPC or a slate device.

Who knows if Win 8 is the “next” version of windows. It might just be like Honeycomb is to Gingerbread (in android terms). You know, just a version for specific applications like HTPC’s, tablets, etc.

Maybe it’ll just run along side of it’s Win 7 Desktop/Laptop counterparts while 8 will be more for the living room / mobile market.

Windows 8 is just scary from a business point of view. I fear if it is release like it is now that Windows 7 will become XP all over again and people will be using it for the next 15 years.

I’ve heard better things about zoneminder, but as with all open source software, they can be buggy and hard to use.

I haven’t had the chance to use any of them but if I do, I’ll try to put a write-up of how well they work.

ispyconnect is quite buggy, but it’s finally getting better.

It nicely solved my problem (counting traffic), but I wouldn’t use it in a “serious” setting since it has a tendency to crash and malfunction.

A more simple solution is to debug the .dmp with WinDBG because BlueScreenView does not always show you the right causes

God do I agree with you! With all of the news with the CEO leaving and two other top employees, I’m sort of scared of where they are headed though.

I’ve seen articles on Tom’s Guide about them possibly being purchased by Dell, Qualcomm, and Samsung. All I can do is hope they are just trying to clean house to improve, not to be sold.

All I can do is wait for bulldozer and hope for the best!
