    OFF TOPIC… i’m trying to get registered in your site you posted on the avast! forum i read. Seems to be down. So i registered for this site. I just have a couple questions about my laptop and finally getting avast! IS off my computer. Now i still need to get some kind of antispyware and antivirus software installed. i’ll be able to chat with you on here if you post a thread. I was unsure of where i could post a thread… and i’m ashamed to say i don’t understand “stickies” so this is really a bit confusing!

    Hi Ginger,

    this is my blog, and my forum is currently unavailable due to problems changing hosts when I moved to my new house. That’s why it’s sort of confusing trying to figure out where to post a thread.

    I’m assuming that you’re having problems with Avast IS, and that’s why you didn’t want to discuss it on the avast forum.

    If you’re looking for another A/V product, you could try AVG free, available here: http://www.avg.com/us-en/homepage

    As for anti-spyware / anti-malware, definitely go with http://www.malwarebytes.org. The free edition should do just fine.

    You can use the PM function on the avast forum if you’d like to talk with me, it might be easier than using my blog. Just login to the avast forum at http://forum.avast.com, click “my messages” at the top, click “new message” on the left side, and type scythe944 in the “To:” box.

    thank you so much! i already have malwarebytes… good stuff! i was looking at AVG free but when i go to do the final install it says it’s unable to finish do to something with my computer… ever since i messed with avast! IS for 4 days… and finally getting it off my laptop… now i am unable to download ANY A/V products successfully, really does suck! i’m not happy with the after effects of their product. especially after all that time of comments/threads on the forums with NO responses from the techs or someone higher than a newbie or jr member… ugh… just still reeling from all that BS i had to deal with and now having a computer that is messed up and needs professional help… that was an expensive 30$ investment. i’m still waiting to hear about my refund

    Hi, I’m very interested in Linux but Im a Super Newbie and I’m having trouble deciding on the right distribution for me (Havent you heard this a million times?) anyway here is my problem, I need a distribution that can switch between reading and writing in English and Japanese (Japanese Language Support) with out restarting the operating system.

    @Emily N.

    It really doesn’t matter what distribution you use, it more or less matters what window manager you use.

    Many applications have built-in languages that you can switch between, but if you need to switch the language in your system, read here: http://www.linuxquestions.org/questions/linux-software-2/switching-input-keyboard-language-in-linux-361110/
